Simple Country Christmas Table Setting

This year, as most years, I chose to keep our simple country Christmas table decorations natural. Simple touches like a faux garland mixed with real greenery, white plates, and black candle holders are a few of the items I used to create this years table setting.

Country Rustic Table Setting

For the place setting at each seat this year, I chose to use my everyday white dishes. I layered the large plate with a black and white striped napkin and then placed the smaller plate on top. For the glasses, I use 12 oz size mason jars in the quilted pattern design.

Simple Christmas Name Table Cards

For the Christmas name table cards, I chose to use several pieces of faux greenery tied with jute string around a wooden star. My daughter then hand lettered each wooden star with each name in our family.

Country Christmas Table Garland

It’s been a very long time since I have used faux greenery garland in my home, however, this year I did. I started decorating with all real greenery this year, and I broke out into an allergic reaction. So, I chose to go with faux that had some real greenery mixed in.

I believe that mixing real greenery with the faux greenery creates a more realistic look and it also helps the garland to look more full and lush.

How to Create a Christmas Table Garland

To create the simple natural Christmas table setting, I placed my table runner down the center of the table. Then, I chose two different styles of faux garland. One is a simple plain pine garland and the other is a juniper berry garland. I fluffed both of the garlands, then placed the juniper berry garland on top of the pine garland. I continued to pull, tuck and fluff the two garlands together until I had the look I wanted.

Next, I took real cedar and tucked it into the faux garland. Again, this creates the look of a more realistic greenery garland and makes it look more full.

Then, I used 5 rustic black candle holders filled with large beeswax tapers to tuck in around the garland.
