Learn how to make simple, easy old-fashioned homemade lemonade from scratch. This recipe shares the step by step process of making the best refreshing summer drink.
What is more refreshing on a hot summer day than an ice-cold glass of sweet lemonade? How about, freshly squeezed, 100%-from-scratch homemade lemonade?
Summertime in our home means a lot of hot muggy days spent outside working hard in the garden, taking care of our dairy goats, or tending to the bees.
We drink a lot of water, or southern style sweet tea from a mason jar, but there is just something about good old fashioned, homemade lemonade. With this recipe you’ll learn how easy it is to make lemonade faster and more easily without using a juicer or any other fancy kitchen gadgets.
Here’s the one lemonade recipe you need for back porch sitting, or gatherings with friends and family.
Kitchen Essentials You May Need
This recipe is different from most lemonades. I slice the lemons thin, add the sugar and water, allow the mixture to sit for 30 minutes and then using a potato masher, press out the juices.
Old Fashioned Homemade Lemonade Ingredients
Sweetener: I sweeten our lemonade with regular pure cane sugar.
Lemons: Fresh lemon juice is what makes the difference in this recipe. So, fresh squeezed lemons it is; no shortcuts with bottled lemon juice. For this process, you won’t even need a juicer.
Water: Cold water is all you need for this simple old fashioned homemade lemonade.
