Farmhouse Christmas Inspiration
When I thought about how I wanted Christmas to feel this year, I was taken back to the thought of a simple, handmade Christmas. I was inspired by nature and years in the past when families would have had very little to decorate with. I also didn’t have a large budget and wanted to use some of the things that I already had.
Farmhouse Christmas Dining Room
Our dining room is very small and I chose to put a small Christmas tree in an old crock and then hang our handmade clay star ornaments on the tree. The clay stars on the grapevine wreath were also made by the children and I. The Christmas tree didn’t come with the tiny pinecones on it but with just a dab of hot glue, I was able add them for a little extra festive touch.
Farmhouse Christmas Kitchen
I kept it simple in the kitchen with inspiration still coming from nature and the feel of an old fashioned handmade Christmas. Real greenery, nuts in a bowl, spices that we use to make our winter stove top simmer and dried cranberries. The lights give such a cozy feel in the early mornings and evenings.
Just a few simple touches in our kitchen this Christmas season but it’s never really about having a perfectly put together space for me. It’s about the memories that are created here. It’s about Christmas music playing, children helping bake and the memories that are created together.

Yes, it is chalk paint. It’s Toasted Poppyseed by Kilz. Then, use the Kilz wax to seal it.
What type of wood slab is on top? I’m hoping to put a new one on mine and I love this

The chairs are from a local company called Sutherland Furniture Gallery. They are a part of Sutherland lumber and hardware company.
That table is incredible!!! Can I ask where you got it from? I know it’s been many years but wow!!! I’m in love!
Greetings! This table is from a place in Aurora MO called Sutherlands. I think they actually still carry this line of furniture. However, I painted the legs on mine black and sanded the top down to get more of the look that I wanted.

Hello! This table is from a company called Sutherlands in Aurora MO. I am not sure that they have this anymore – however, you might try searching Mexican Pine table and see what comes up. I can tell you that it was a different color, almost an orangish tone, so I sanded it down and painted the bottom. I am unsure how wide the legs are as I sold the table in order to get a longer one. I hope that you are able to find one similar. I do see them on marketplace every once in awhile. Best of luck!
